The seven-day cultural event is held to introduce locals to German food and costumes by presenting authentic German cuisine known the world over -- like sausages, sauerkraut, pork knuckle, and pretzels -- as well as premium imported German beers.
 
Other entertainment at Oktoberfest will include delightful traditional Bavarian music and dance, exciting traditional games and lucky draws.
 
Oktoberfest originally began as a celebration of the marriage of Crown King Ludwig and Queen Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen in the Bavarian city of Munich in October 1810. Today, it is a festival featuring beer tents, entertainment, performances, and gastronomic delights in cities across the world.
 
For the first time at the annual event at the Windsor Plaza is the arrival of Partenkirchner Musikanten, a traditional Oktoberfest band from Germany that has performed at concerts worldwide. From beer tents to banquet halls, Partenkirchner Musikanten is famous for its beer-toasting medleys.
 
Do not miss the biggest annual German food and beer promotion that will be held at the hotel's Jade Ballroom from 6 pm till late from Wednesday (October 6) through Saturday (October 8) and from Wednesday (October 12) to Saturday (October 15).
