Radisson Blu Resort Phu Quoc: Donated Face Masks and Soap for Hope to community
Radisson Blu Resort Phu Quoc and Diversey have joined forces once again to work to support the health needs of the most vulnerable local communities. The project comes after another circular economy project named Soap For Hope which both companies have been working on together since 2018.
With Linens For Life, Radisson Blu Resort Phu Quoc and Diversey have set a goal of making thousands of masks that will be delivered free of charge to local communities. In the lauching day, the two companies have donated Face Masks and Soap For Hope to Duong Dong 1 Highschool in Phu Quoc. In the same time, Radisson Blu Resort Phu Quoc has sponsored scholarship of VND 10,000,000 to school for excellent pupils.
Radisson Blu Resort Phu Quoc, Vietnam’s first Radisson Bu resort with Linens For Life program, and Diversey aim to generate social benefits through their work together on a circular resort economy. On the one hand, there will be a clear health benefit, something which is very much in need right now, and which will help local pupils for prevention measures against COVID-19. In another hand, there will be a positive environmental impact since the recycling of kilos of linen and reduce carbon emissions.
Mr Marko Janssen, General Manager said “Having global strategic allies like Diversey, committed to society and to safer travel, is a source of great pride. We did it with Soap For Hope, and now we do it again this time with Linens For Life and the delivery of all of the masks to the local school. Safety is our priority. We are proud to have a unique Responsible Business action plan which is making us a better company. A meaningful example is Linens For Life: altogether a recycling, sharing, giving and protecting initiative."
Since its opening, Radisson Blu Resort Phu Quoc has rolled out numerous measures designed to protect the environment such as introducing a fleet of electric vehicles including buggies, scooters and minivans, as well as implementing bamboo straws instead of plastic straws. The resort has ambitions to harvest its own bamboo straws in the near future and be the first international hotel in Vietnam to have its own bamboo straw farm.
