HCMC: International Day of Yoga
The Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City in cooperation with Department of External Relations,
Department of Culture & Sports and People’s Committee of HCMC is organizing the 4th International Day of Yoga (IDY-2018).
The International Day of Yoga in Ho Chi Minh city in 2018 will be held on 23rd June 2018 that is estimated to attract 500 participants.
The event will feature a yoga performance hosted by an Indian yoga master and various classical Indian dance performances. The International Day of Yoga 2018 is free of charge and open to people of all age groups.
The Consulate General of India in HCMC in collaboration with Department of External Relations, Department of Culture & Sports and People’s Committee of HCMC will organize the International Day of Yoga event in seven provinces and cities in Southern Vietnam to open up opportunities for yoga enthusiasts to practice yoga.
Yoga harmonizes mind and body, as well as thought and action, and it improves one’s health and well-being, said Dr. Reddy, adding that yoga also helps eradicate diseases and medical conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and stress.
The Consul General noted that the number of people practicing yoga in Vietnam has risen sharply.
21st June has been declared by the UN General Assembly Resolution 69/131 as International Day of Yoga (IDY). Accordingly, the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City will organize the 4th International Day of Yoga on June 23, 2018.
The celebrations of IDY 2018 will take place as follows:
Date: Saturday, 23rd June, 2018
Time: 7:00 A.M.
Venue: Ho Xuan Huong Stadium, Ward No. 6, District 3
